Joshua is all about the data

Paladin Data Corporation is all about data. How to collect it. How to store it. How to use it to make independent businesses run better. Heck, it’s in the company name. When it comes to helping make that data work for Paladin clients, Joshua Pearson is probably one of the more unsung heroes in the company.

Joshua leads Paladin’s data department which takes a store’s data and converts it into data that works in Paladin. Joshua and his group – Shane Andreika, Edric Dearment and Jordan Baltaden – also handles EDI setups (electronic data interchange), store brand conversions (when stores change suppliers), repair of database corruptions, and more.

While that brief description explains what the data team does, it doesn’t come close to telling the story of how detailed their work is and how important it is to Paladin Data Corporation.

Joshua grew up in the Eugene-Springfield area of the Willamette Valley in Oregon and after high school, he migrated to the Portland area and started his education in computer science. He earned an associate degree in software development from ITT Tech and completed an internship as a software engineer at Intel.

Professionally, he worked as a technician at Quest Solutions, a company specializing in wireless barcode scanners, Safeguard Business Systems, and Fry’s Electronics before making his way to Bend, Oregon, where Paladin’s development and customer service center is located.

Once he joined Paladin, Joshua was quickly moved into the data department where he flourished. He’s now the department lead and supervises three data technical service representatives.

“Josh is an extremely hard worker – very smart and experienced and a valuable member of our team,” says Paladin COO Ryan Dunn. “The tasks that the data team is involved with are highly complex. Josh handles these with ease. The data department has greatly improved since Josh has taken over as lead.”

When he’s not working Joshua is pursuing his bachelor’s degree and enjoying life with his girlfriend Peggy Reynoso and their 4-month-old daughter Mia. They like to hike, float the rivers, and generally enjoy the great Central Oregon outdoors.
