Paladin Clients Honored as 2022 Stihl All-Stars
HBS Dealer announced the Stihl Hardware All-Stars class of 2022 in its May edition and three of the stores are Paladin clients. Meads Hardware in Las Vegas, Nevada, Clinton Hardware in Clinton, Maryland, and How-To Building Center in Sioux Center, Iowa are the Paladin stores honored this year.
The program, now in its 12th year, according to HBS Dealer, recognizes one high-performing store from each state. According to the magazine, the Stihl All-Stars are honored for their:
- Innovation in operation, marketing and merchandising
- High performance, expansion, success, or sales growth
- Customer focus, community centricity and a commitment to the traditions of the hardware and building supply industry.
Those traits certainly all fit the Paladin stores on the list.
Linda Dwinell’s store in North Las Vegas fully embraces the classic cool of old Las Vegas when the nearby Fremont Street hotels and casinos were the heart of gaming and entertainment in town.
Described by many customers as being “old school retail Las Vegas,” Meads is an iconic hardware store offering hardware, plumbing, tools, grills, garden supplies, and, of course, Stihl power equipment. It’s also known for its NU-2-U appliances – “slightly used, but in very good condition” – which makes furnishing a home or apartment in the Las Vegas Valley more affordable.
Meads is an Orgill dealer that has been with Paladin since 2013.
David Billman’s family bought Ripple Hardware and Supply Company in Clinton, Maryland in 1963 and have operated it ever since. Ripple was established in 1946. Today, David and Belinda run the store with the same friendly customer service that earned it a place as one of the top 10 hardware stores in the state. The 2022 Stihl All-Star adds another award to its trophy case.
Clinton Hardware celebrates its 75-year history in its store with vintage tools and displays and on its website with classic photos of David’s father, Clyde, and grandfather, Verdon.
Clinton Hardware has been an enthusiastic Paladin client since 2017. Paladin is fully integrated with David’s Do it Best supplier and all its programs which makes running his store easier.

Brad Pearson’s How-To Building Center underwent a major expansion in 2016. In 2022, he decided to use Paladin to make it run better.
How-To Building Center is located in Sioux Center, Iowa, a rural outpost in the northwestern part of the Hawkeye state. The store offers classic hardware items from Do it Best, and a variety of services from appliance repair and installation to window and screen repair.
The store’s ownership also embraces its community. How-To Building Center this year partnered with FCS (Farmers Coop Society) and the city of Sioux Center to create affordable housing in the city.
Congratulations to these three Paladin clients and all the Stihl All-Star stores.
