Morris Hardware, Paladin in the News
Morris Hardware, a Paladin client since April 2023, was featured in HBS Dealer in May. The store has been serving the good people of Morgan County, Ohio since 1845 and has been under family ownership since it opened its doors.
Tom Schanken is the latest descendant of founder George Morris to own and operate the store. Co-owner Shayna Roberts has worked with Paladin Data Corporation to install the store’s first point-of-sale system in its 179-year history.
“Paladin has a very easy user interface which is important to us,” Roberts said. “Half my guys here are retired and not real tech savvy. Paladin is really easy for them to pick up and operate.”
That relationship was highlighted in the story. Read more
H&H Hardware owner featured for mentoring his staff
Grant Sherfick and H & H Hometown Hardware in Shoals, Indiana was featured in the May edition of Hardware Retailing for his focus on mentoring his salespeople.
The story, “Getting Everyone to Sell,” features three stores including H & H with anecdotal information on how the owners and managers encourage their employees to help customers by directing them to the right products and thereby selling products. Grant’s H & H Hometown Hardware, which has been with Paladin since November, is one of them.
“We’re in the business to sell, but we also have an opportunity to help people,” Grant told Hardware Retailing. “Sales can be positive and rewarding.”
