Joven Thrives at Coaching Up Paladin Clients, Teammates, High School Athletes

A Bend, Oregon native, Joven Kvortek has accomplished quite a bit since graduating from Bend High School in 2020. In the years that followed, he earned an Associate of Arts degree in computer science from Central Oregon Community College and began pursuing a bachelor’s degree through Oregon State University’s E-Campus program. Along the way, he discovered an opportunity that would shape his professional future: Paladin Data Corporation.

Since joining Paladin, Joven has quickly established himself as a valued member of the support team, earning praise from both supervisors and customers for his technical expertise and problem-solving abilities.

For Joven, deciding to join Paladin felt like a natural next step.

“I saw this job posting and applied for it because it fit my interests. When I got the job, I was working here and going to school full time. I decided to commit to working here full time and not be overloaded. I was kind of in late-stage computer science at that point which takes a lot more time,” he explains. “The way the market for this kind of job is going, I thought that I already have an in and why continue working on a degree and end up here anyway.”

That decision has paid off. In less than a year, Joven has become a key contributor on Paladin Support’s Squad 1, the team dedicated to hardware support.

“In my professional opinion: In a remarkably short period, Joven has established himself as a dependable, knowledgeable, and highly effective Technical Support Representative. He consistently demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and a genuine commitment to providing excellent support to both our clients and his teammates,” says Squad 1 Lead and Joven’s supervisor Eric Nelson. “My personal opinion is that Joven has all the qualities one would want in a coach. He’s wise, adaptable, and a true mentor. He communicates like a friend and cares about his clients’ best interests. Paladin, his team and everyone else he assists is better for the experience.”

Beyond assisting customers with hardware-related challenges, Joven has also developed specialized expertise supporting CyberBOS, the long-established POS and business management platform serving the lumber, hardware, and building materials industries that Paladin recently acquired.

“I’ve had some pretty good success with CyberBOS,” Joven says. “I’ve been working closely with CyberBOS’s Tom Turney and Paul Koos, from Squad 2, and I’ve been able to solve some long-standing issues that existed before Paladin’s involvement.”

While his professional responsibilities continue to grow, Joven remains deeply connected to his hometown. His parents, John and Skye, along with his siblings Shelynn, Sareya, and younger brother Gaven, all live in the Bend area.

He also stays involved in the local community as the defensive backs coach and assistant defensive coordinator at Caldera High School, where Gaven plays defensive end and right tackle.

“He’s kind of undersized for those positions, but he’s incredibly strong,” Joven says proudly. “He holds the school record for the bench press.”

When he’s not solving customer challenges or coaching football, Joven enjoys spending time with his wife, Marissa. They can often be found exploring the outdoors with their rescue dog, Walter (all pictured above).

For Joven, one of the most rewarding aspects of working at Paladin is the opportunity to apply his technical knowledge to help others.

“I like problem-solving a lot because of my computer science background,” he says. “Even though this isn’t software development, there are still challenges that require digging into databases and working with SQL, which I enjoy. Most of all, I enjoy support. It’s satisfying to help someone fix an issue they’ve been raging with for hours and make their day a little better.”

Joven’s combination of technical skill, commitment to customer success, and passion for solving problems has made him an important part of the Paladin team. As he continues to grow in his role, both he and Paladin are benefiting from a partnership that has proven to be a great fit.
