Paladin People – Holly Horn
Holly is Paladin’s Go-To Resource
Every company has that one person who seems to know everything, a behind-the-scenes hero who keeps things running smoothly. Holly Horn is that person at Paladin Data Corporation.
This month marks Holly’s 16th year with Paladin, and while she hasn’t done everything with the company, she’s certainly done a lot. Starting as an administrative assistant in 2010, Holly’s career path has taken her through multiple departments: managing marketing, supporting finance as an accounts payable specialist, handling HR benefits, representing Paladin at hardware dealer markets, and now serving as a product specialist, overseeing hardware and software offerings in Paladin’s online store and processing new client purchase orders.
Her deep knowledge of the company earned her the nickname “Radar” from Chief Experience Officer Charles Owen, who helped bring her on board. The name is a nod to the beloved character from the classic sitcom M*A*S*H – Walter “Radar” O’Reilly, known for anticipating needs before anyone else did, which is a fitting description for Holly.
Over the years, Holly has been part of Paladin’s incredible growth, from starting out in a hangar at the Bend airport to a full support and administration campus in Bend, and two offices in Mesa and Chandler, Arizona.
“It’s been amazing to see the growth and be part of it,” Holly says. “Watching the changes has been a privilege.” Though she admits sharing one bathroom with 25 employees, most of them men, in the company’s “hangar days” is not something she misses.
Today, Holly remains the go-to resource for Paladin staff, even though her official title is product specialist.
“In school, my favorite subjects were math and art,” she shares. “I’ve always loved working with spreadsheets and making sense of data, and my roles here have let me use both my analytical and creative skills.”
Outside of work, Holly and her husband Mike, Paladin’s Point of Sale Product Manager, share their home with their three furry “kids”: (Pictured above) English cream golden retrievers Charlie and Riley, and a French bulldog named Kona, a tribute to their time on Hawaii’s Big Island.
“Holly brings an incredible depth of knowledge that makes our team stronger every day. She doesn’t just understand what we do, she understands why we do it. Her years of experience give her the ability to provide context, continuity and sound judgment when it matters most,” says her supervisor, Paladin COO Ryan Dunn. “Holly’s familiarity with our systems, customers and processes means she can anticipate challenges, guide others and help us make smarter decisions. Her expertise is a true asset to our organization.”
