Andrew’s experience makes him a valuable resource, exceptional mentor

Paladin Squad 1 Lead Andrew MartinelliWhen it comes to Paladin Data Corporation – its products, departments, and innovations – Andrew Martinelli has had a hand in a lot over the past five years.

Andrew joined Paladin in November 2020 as part of Squad 1, the hardware support team. Just six months later, he was promoted to the Customer Experience (CX) team. Two years later, he stepped into leadership as the head of Squad 2, software support, before returning to Squad 1 as its lead. Simply put, there’s very little about PaladinPOS that Andrew hasn’t worked on.

His Paladin journey even includes a personal milestone: in 2022, Andrew married Paladin’s Communications Project Manager, Maddy Merwin. The couple met in middle school in Bend, Oregon, home to Paladin’s administration and customer support center. (They are pictured above at Multnomah Falls on the Columbia River Gorge near Portland.)

Over the past year, Andrew has been busier than ever. In addition to leading his squad of technical support representatives, he spearheaded Paladin’s integration with Worldpay’s triPOS system, enabling pharmacies to accept PCI-compliant flexible spending cards. Recently, Paladin launched two major innovations: PaladinShop™, a built-in e-commerce platform, and PaladinGo™, a mobile app that empowers stores to sell from anywhere, check inventory, and more. These new features have kept Andrew’s team on its toes.

“Yeah, this is probably the busiest year we’ve had in a long time. It’s been exciting,” Andrew says.

On top of that, Andrew has been onboarding and training new employees, a responsibility he truly enjoys.

“It’s one of my favorite parts of the job,” he explains. “I love teaching people and helping them understand Paladin. It can be challenging because everyone learns differently, and this job isn’t easy to teach. But it’s also one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. I love turning people into little problem solvers.”

Andrew’s contributions don’t stop there. He was recently selected to join Paladin’s Pipeline Team, which evaluates and prioritizes the company’s development projects.

“That’s been an absolute dream,” he says. “It’s amazing to be part of a team making tough decisions that shape Paladin’s future.”

Andrew’s abilities have impressed Paladin’s leadership, including Operations Director Tyler Klein, who is Andrew’s supervisor.

“Andrew is one of the best techs I’ve ever worked with. He is an expert troubleshooter who approaches problems logically and efficiently. He is also extremely friendly and easy to get along with. I’m excited to watch his career continue to evolve at Paladin. Andrew is a deadly combination of intelligence, integrity, and amiability. The sky’s the limit, and I can’t wait to see what he can accomplish,” Tyler says.

Andrew plans to be part of Paladin’s future for a long time.

“I love Paladin. It’s an incredible place to work—the benefits, the opportunities, and the chance to help the company move forward.”
