Industry News: Wilkes County Hardware Spotlights its Electrical Merchandising
For the past nine years, Richard and Angela Searcy have been meeting the hardware needs of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, through their store, Wilkes County Hardware. Over this period, they’ve gained valuable insights into effective merchandising. The November issue of Hardware Retailing (pages 102-109) showcases how their electrical department caters to existing DIY customers while attracting new ones.
“I always try to listen and understand what my customers need,” Richard shared with Hardware Retailing. “If multiple people ask for a specific electrical item, I know it’s time to include it in our planogram.”
The enduring success of the Searcy’s store highlights their exceptional customer service in a town known as the birthplace of Lowe’s Home Improvement. The Searcys joined the Paladin family in June.
