Ned Green Elected NHPA Board Chairman
Ned Green, who, along with wife Lisa, owns Weider’s Paint & Hardware, has been elected chairman of the board of the North American Hardware and Paint Association, Hardware Retailing reported.
The Greens and Greg Lull purchased the business in 1991 from Greg’s parents, Robert and Joanne Lull – Joanne is the granddaughter of John A. Weider who founded the business in 1879. The Greens became sole owners in 2004.
The business has grown from its original home that Weider opened in Rochester, New York to three stores in Honeoye Falls, Brighton and Perinton. Ned, who worked in the store as a teen in the 1980s, transitioned the business to Ace Hardware after taking sole ownership. The company has been with Paladin Data Corporation since 2015.
Ned joined the NHPA board in 2022. Read more

KOZI’s signal covers a roughly three-county area surrounding Lake Chelan, Washington. Kelly’s has been in family ownership in Chelan for more than 65 years.
Pat provides anecdotal information about his products and services. The story is on pages 88-91 of Hardware Connection. Kelly’s Chelan Hardware has been a Paladin store since 2009.
Morris Hardware, the oldest family-owned store in Ohio, has served the Mid-Ohio region of Morgan County since 1845. The store carries a wide variety of products and local artists have gone to the store for brushes, paints and other supplies.
Morris Hardware supports a number of community organizations and often hosts its Arts in the Alley event that displays the work of local artists.
Hardware Connection featured the store’s efforts on pages 106-107. Morris Hardware joined the Paladin family in April 2023.
Clinton Hardware handles “Some Assembly Required”
David Billman, owner of Clinton Hardware in Clinton, Maryland, has a new niche. His store, well known for its thorough customer service, is also becoming famous with customers for assembling products they bought elsewhere.
“A majority of this country’s sales are shifting to mail order and online,” he told HBS Dealer. “There is a need for this service. A lot of people know how to shop on Amazon but your phone cannot assemble a shelving unit.”
His unique service is highlighted in HBS Dealer.
David’s family has owned Clinton Hardware, established in 1946, since 1963. It is annually selected by locals as one of the top hardware stores in Maryland. David has been a Paladin client since 2017.
